A 44-year-old San Bernardino man died early Friday, April 19, when he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, the San Bernardino Police Department said.

Anthony Molina was pushing a shopping cart in traffic lanes on Marshall Boulevard near Elm Avenue around 3:20 a.m. when he was hit, Sgt. Christopher Gray, a Police Department spokesman, said on Monday.

Although Molina was jaywalking, Gray said, the state Vehicle Code requires any motorist who collides with a pedestrian or property to stop.

Family members told KTLA that Molina was headed home and that he had coached Little League in the city for 20 years.

Detectives were working on generating leads.
